“Scent Space” is the first brick & mortar flagship store for Commodity Fragrances, a digitally native brand that was re-founded by new ownership in 2019. The design concept aims to embody the brand’s bold DNA, through a physical space based on exploration and discovery of its “Scent Spaces” (a term coined by Commodity that enables you to take control of your scent’s projection within the space around you through a trilogy of scent concentrations).
As a modern and design-driven American perfumery, it was crucial to reflect its identity through a unique space unlike any other. Initial inspiration was drawn from how one explores the brand’s digital shop combined with how one experiences an art gallery or museum, translated to the physical form. A place designed for exploration, information, and visual interest to keep one engaged and intrigued in discovering the brand. A store intended to draw you in with curiosity and provide an inviting space to linger through all the scent spaces.
